Tribal members from the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe have had hand harvested wild rice for generations. Our new facility, which opened in May of 2001, is located four miles south of Walker, Minnesota. Traditionally Hand Harvested by Native Americans Northern Lights Casino is proudly owned and operated by the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. The Small Business Department's objectives are to maintain profitable businesses that create jobs, explore and recommend other businesses that will compliment current businesses, develop sound internal controls that safeguard the businesses revenue, maintain Leech Lake and other agencies standards and requirements to administer funds for the benefit of Leech Lake, and conduct the utmost professionalism within the Leech Lake Businesses. ![]() The Leech Lake Small Business Department manages Che-We store, Che We Office Supply, Northern Lights Express, Cash Machines, and research other business proposals that may benefit the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe's existing businesses.
